Important Notice
It has come to our attention that another company has sent out mailings under the name "Property Tax Adjusters." They request payment for services in the amount of $179.00-$189.00 and sometimes a late fee. If you have received such a mailing, please do not respond. This group has no affiliation whatsoever with Property Tax Adjusters, Inc. and we are taking the appropriate legal action. They do not provide any contact information, so any web search leads the recipients of these letters to us instead. The persons sending these letters are engaged in an outright scam; the letter format is very similar to that of "Property Tax Reassessment," owned by Michael McConville (Google search company and owner). Please send any such letter you have received to the CA Attorney General, Post Master, IRS, Department of Justice, Local Law Enforcement and anyone else you see fit.

Property Tax Issues in
the Media

We have seen, too many times, articles in the press, internet, and feedback from County Assesor Offices, that just don't give taxpayers the whole story. So we want to fill in the blanks and raise awareness of the options available to property taxpayers. Please read the excerpt below, our response, and decide for yourself.

Excerpt from an article in The Sacramento Bee:

Homeowners whose property is not being re-evaluated have the right to request a reassessment, assessors say. And they warn people to be wary of companies offering to press the case for a reassessment – for a fee.

"Don't pay anybody who solicits you," said El Dorado County Assistant Assessor Karl Weiland." Everything that those solicitors promise to do for $95, we will do, with one exception. I think they offer to take you through the appeal process, if necessary."

Our Response:

The El Dorado County Assistant Assessor Karl Weiland's statement is true. Let's take it from "..with one exception.": We do offer to take your case to the Assessment Appeals Board and appear on your behalf!

Every county in California has an Assessment Appeals Board. Why? Assessment Appeals Boards were implemented to resolve differences in opinion of value between property tax payer or their agents (that's us!), and the County Assessor. This appeal process is the only way to upend an over-assessment of your property created by the assessor's over-estimation of value.

Furthermore, we agree that you should not pay anyone who merely files your paperwork for you. If they are not active advocates, negotiating with the assessor's office, appearing at hearings on your behalf, filing with the Assessment Appeals Board, and appearing at Assessment Appeals Board hearings, then save your money!

OUR MISSION

What we do - why you would call...

Under California state law as set forth in Proposition 8, you are entitled to a temporary reduction in property taxes when the value of your property falls below the assessed value.

Our Mission: to make sure that all eligible property tax payers, get their fair reduction in assessed values of their homes, and therefore pay a fair property tax. The following guiding principles help us in our service of the tax payer and our work with each county:

  • Apply the highest standard of quality work on each case we handle
  • Protect home owners from over-taxation on their properties
  • Californians pay enough tax as it is
  • We submit assessment appeals in mass to the counties we serve, giving them the opportunity to streamline their work load
  • Inform the public of their options in this process
